Henry G. Carter, of Blairsville, passed away January 11, 2015, at the age 78. Mr. Carter was a graduate of

Georgia Academy for the Blind. He worked in the concessions business for 40 years. Mr. Carter enjoyed woodworking, as well as listening to gospel and country music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Gladys Carter; sisters, Frances Canup, Hazel Harvey, Betty Price; and brother, Edward Carter.

 

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Myrtle Floyd Carter; son, Walter Carter, both of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Nancy Carter of Covington; sister-in-law, Janice Carter of Oxford; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Carter will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, January 13, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
