T.W. Dean of Newborn, passed away January 21, 2015, at the age of 86. Mr. Dean was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, in Newborn. Additionally, he was a member of the Newton Hay Riders, where he was able to express his love for square dancing, and the Singing Saints of the First Baptist Church of Conyers. Mr. Dean was a dedicated employee of CSX for more than 37 years. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Mary Jane, were avid travelers and enjoyed visiting new places. He adored his family and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon Lee and Anne (Long) Dean; sisters, Emma Nunnally, Lois Fortson; and his first wife, Evelyn Joyce (Dudley) Dean.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Jane Dean; sons and daughters-in-law, James W. Dean and Noreen LeGare of Tallahassee, FL, Dennis and Sherry Dean of Conyers; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Scott Carpenter, Angie Sigman and Steve Holzhausen, Lori and Bodie Dickerson, all of Loganville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ouida Bridges of Danielsville, Carol Wilson of Athens; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Dean will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, 11:00 AM, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 9595 Highway 142, in Newborn, with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, prior to his service, from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be held, for his family, Saturday, January 24, 4:00 PM, at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5601 U.S. 29 N, Danielsville, GA 30633. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Shiloh Senior Bus Fund, at the above address; or the Still Burn Center, at the Doctor's Hospital, 3651 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
