William Michael Carver of Covington, passed away November 8, 2015, at the age of 61. Mike was a graduate of the University of Georgia and remained an avid Dawgs football fan. He was employed by the Newton County School System for 33 years, where he taught Eighth Grade Georgia History and coached football. Whether you knew him as your friend Mike, Coach Carver, or "Pops", as he was affectionately known by his beloved grandchildren, he will be forever missed by those who knew and adored him. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Flora Carver.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Carver; children, Jeff and Cristi Donahue, Matt and Brandy Donahue; grandchildren, Zach Donahue, Emma Donahue, Cam Donahue, Kennedy Donahue, Charley Donahue; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Len Owens, Wanda and Dickie Justice; brother and sister-in-law, Vinson and Nell Carver; as well as several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mike will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the Cousins Middle School Gymnasium, 8187 Carlton Trail NW, in Covington, with Dr. Alan Posey officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Cousins Middle School, c/o Athletics Department, 8187 Carlton Trail NW, Covington, GA 30014.
