Sadie Strange of Covington, passed away February 22, 2016 at the age of 87. Mrs. Strange loved everyone she met, saw the best in them, and never gave up on them. She was a Christian woman that people came to for advice. Mrs. Strange was a fabulous cook and enjoyed working in her garden. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Mrs. Strange was preceded in death by her sons, Tony Strange, Dana Strange, parents, John Albert and Rosa Mae Funderburk; sister, Hazel Nix; and brothers, R.L. Funderburk and J.W. Funderburk.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charlie Strange, Jr. of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Wes Kite of Newborn; son, Timmy Strange of Covington; grandchildren, Tiffany Hand, Dwayne Strange, Shane Strange, Jeff Strange, Lee Strange, Ashley Strange, Catalina Ward, Eric Ward, Anzleigh Voyles, Kainen Malcom, Taylor Eaton, Nicholas Simmons, Natalie Simmons, Amanda Wescott, Asiya Williams, Eligah Williams, Anthony Williams, Nadya Williams, Khinna Williams, Dakota Williams; great-grandchildren, Jordan Strange, Justice Strange, Shon Strange, Dustin Strange, Chase Strange, Kevin Strange, Kohlton Strange, Freedom Strange, Kiarra Strange, Taylor Stephens, Katelyn Russ, Jaylon Harkins, Shawn Strange, Gracie Strange, Nevaeh Strange, Bralon Strange, Ryleigh Rawlins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fannie and John A. Lance, Ruby and Willard Franklin, all of Pendergrass; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Margaret Funderburk of Pendergrass, L.C. and Irene Funderburk of Arcade, Johnny and Judy Funderburk, T.W. and Sheryl Funderburk, Larry Funderburk, all of Pendergrass.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Strange will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington with Pastor Barney Johnson, Todd Sweat, and Dr. R. Hudson Moody officiating . Interment will follow in Covington City Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation at the funeral home Tuesday, February 23, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and again two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 P.M.
