EDITED obit for Mr. Davidson

James Curtis Davidson (J C), age 90, of Covington, passed away peacefully at his home, on March 29, 2018, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Keener, AR, on May 1, 1927, he was the only child of the late James Lloyd Davidson and Faye Hester Davidson. After graduating from Bergman High School in Arkansas, J C joined the Navy in 1945 and proudly served his country during WWII. He then went on to pursue his college education at Arkansas Polytechnic College where he earned a B.S. degree in Science and Mathematics. J C started his long career, 32 years, with Exxon Co., USA, via Carter Oil and Humble Oil, that took him around the globe as a professional Geophysicist. He rose through the ranks to be promoted to the top of the company as Geophysical Supervisor in Exxon's Southwestern Exploration in Midland, Tx. There he met his wife of 43 years, Gail Wynn Davidson. J C was a lifelong and faithful servant of his God. He loved, treasured, and honored God, family, and friends. His faith centered in the Church of Christ. With great passion, J C delved into genealogy, and historic preservation and research, for the restoration of his home. His intelligent, critical mind brought into his home computers, smart phones, WIFI, and anything he found to keep up with the world. J C's compassion and love for people, along with his unrelenting love of clever fun, brought a constant flow of loving friends who treasured his Christian and fun-loving personality. He was loved by all. J C was a true Southern gentleman and a loving husband and friend.

Survivors include his loving wife, Gail Wynn Davidson; an uncle and aunt, Hoyt and Laura Davidson of Harrison, AR; as well as many special cousins who adored and loved him, and that he loved and adored.
