Phil Tucker of Oxford, passed away March 12, 2018, at 72 years of age. Phil was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War, in Korea and Munich, Germany as a Medic/Corpsman. His army training led to his calling to be a nurse. He was always known to be an excellent, compassionate nurse. Phil will be remembered as a non-traditional person who possessed a great sense of humor. He was a member of the American Legion in Loganville. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Iza (Smith) Tucker; sisters, Betty Fuller, Myrna Jewell; brothers, Joe Tucker, Jack Tucker, Bill Tucker.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ginger Tucker of Oxford; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Nicholas Peters; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Krista Tucker; grandchildren, Brandon, David, and Katelyn; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Albin Clayton, Alice Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cloyd Tucker, Keith and Jeannie Tucker, Gary and Kathy Tucker; mother-in-law, Retha Bone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Tucker will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Charlie Tarleton officiating. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service on Saturday, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
