Hazel Baker Lester of Covington, passed away Tuesday July 3, 2018, at the age of 79. A devoted and faithful Christian, Mrs. Lester was passionate about sharing her love of the Lord - including the time she spent teaching children in Sunday School. Known for being selfless and always putting the needs of others before her own, she cared for her family in the same manner. Mrs. Lester's generosity changed the lives of many, and she will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and dedicated wife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oliver Lester; parents, Grady Lee and Frances Juliette Baker; daughter, Linda Christine Lester; sister, Linda Moore; and brother, Lewis Baker.
Survivors include her sister, Frances Walraven of Covington; sister-in-law, Frances Baker of Decatur; daughter-at-heart, Janice Faye Craig of Loganville; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lester will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018, 2:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington, with Minister Don Day officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, July 6th, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or memorial contributions be made to Highview Baptist Church, 4649 East Fairview Road SW, Stockbridge, GA 30281.
