Jackie E. Dunn

Jackie E. Dunn, Sr., of Oxford, passed away November 3, 2019, at the age of 76. Mr. Dunn was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Jonesboro. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer and held a three hole-in-one's record. Mr. Dunn enjoyed helping others and cooking, often making his shrimp dinner and inviting everyone from his church. His family was his world – especially his grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Eugene and Irene Jenkins Dunn; brother, Fred T. Dunn.

He Only Takes The Best: God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be; so he put his arms around you, and whispered, "come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away; although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.

He's been made whole and he's home.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Kitchens Dunn; daughter, Vicki Dunn-Phillips; sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie E. Dunn, Jr., Jefferey Scott and Chrissie Dunn; grandchildren, Brittany and Sean Hesterley, Dustin Shaw, Dane and Jackie Phillips, Bret Dunn, Ashley Goolsby, Matthew Dunn, Jasper Dunn, Madison Dunn, Joey Dunn, Elexa Dunn, Tiffany and Zack Pendley; great-grandchildren, Sailor Hesterley, Sawyer Hesterley, Brody Hesterley, Christian Shaw, Aubrey Mae Pendley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Charles Wilbanks, Joyce and Don Weaks, Shirley and Butch Smith, Nancy and Steve Hernandez; sisters-in-law, Brenda Dunn, Carol Jolly, Lisa Bunch; brother-in-law, Frankie Kitchens and wife, Mary Lou; as well as several nieces and nephews.
