obit for Lillie Clarice Carter

Lillie Clarice Carter, of Walnut Grove, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the age 89. Mrs. Carter's life was characterized by kindness and compassion. She was selfless in nature and tending to the needs of others came before her own – always and in all ways. Mrs. Carter's warm smile and engaging personality blended seamlessly with her love of people. Her days were filled with family time, caring for her flower garden, keeping her home pristine and organized, and going to church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Richard Lee Carter; daughters, Shirley Wilson, Mary Dyals, Lisa Marie Carter; parents, Joe B. and Lillie Mae Hawkins; and sisters, Gladys Manus, Betty Mitchell.

 

Mrs. Carter's presence will be deeply missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ricky Smith, Deborah and Tim Stone; sons and daughters-in-law, James McDonald, Lee and Tina Carter, Mark and Ellen Carter, Barry and Connie Carter, Larry and Penny Carter; grandchildren, Tina Stevens, Phillip Dyals, Krystal Smith, Brittani Rogers, Dawn Day, Lisa Rosser, Candace Baker, Brian Smith, Jonathan Carter, Ben Stone, Blake Stone, Kaylee Carter; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Joann Boes; brother, Charles Hawkins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Carter will be held Sunday, August 9, 2020, 2:00 PM, at Full Gospel Holiness Church, 3170 Highway 138 NW, in Monroe, with Pastor Larry Carter officiating and interment following in Carter Memorial Gardens, Highway 81, in Loganville. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to her service, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
