Deborah Moody Roberts Obituary

Deborah Moody Roberts

Born March 28, 1971

Died August 12, 2021

Deborah grew up in Covington and established a life that was one of which she could be proud. Deborah was a loving mother, dedicated wife, the best mammi, sister, daughter, aunt, mother in law and friend! She was saved at the young age of 13 in 1984, at Camp Canaan, and she was a Christian example with a love for Jesus that shone bright in every room. Her selflessness, tender heart and that beautiful smile were unmatchable. While beautiful on the outside to us, she certainly was on the inside as well. She was often known for her fun yet feisty personality, her crafting and decorating skills, being a ray of sunshine and always keeping us laughing as the life of the party. With her servant's heart, she never hesitated to send a card, write a text, make a call or donate toward someone in need. In every battle she faced, she fought her hardest, and even in those valleys she still gave praise and honor to her Savior Jesus Christ. Many know her as a prayer warrior...and she really was! She was known by her many nicknames - Mom, Mama, Mammi, Dedo, Debbie, Deb, Aunt Deborah and so many more.

She met the love of her life, her best friend and her husband, Todd Roberts, at just 14 years of age, and they built a beautiful life together over the last 33 years. She was the proudest mom of her children: son, TJ Roberts, and daughter and son-in-law, Christann and Brant Sweat. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her grand babies: Annistan Sweat, Mason Roberts, Presleigh Sweat and Myla Grace Sweat. Her family included her loving parents, Bill and Shirley Moody, sisters and brothers-in-law, Lori Adams (Bob) and Sandy Hudgins (Craig). She loved her in-laws, Jerry and Janie Roberts, as her very own, and her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Lee and Lynne Roberts. She was adored by her 12 nephews and nieces and 12 great nephews and nieces. For 27 plus years, she dedicated her life to children's ministry and saw many give their lives to Christ during that time.

She was the office manager at Associated Foot and Ankle Specialists for Dr. G. Wayne Newman Jr. where she worked for 30 years and was proud of the work she had accomplished in that time.

She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving as a deacon's wife on staff. She will be missed by her many, many friends, family and church family members.

Officiating services will be her brother-in-law, Dr. Craig Hudgins, her Pastor, and son-in-law, Brant Sweat, her Assistant Pastor.
