Obit - Dalphner Elease Mitchell


Dalphner Elease Mitchell of Oxford, passed away February 13, 2013, at the age of 87. Mrs. Mitchell always enjoyed working, especially her part-time job at Chick-fil-A. She cherished her family dearly, and loved taking care of her grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Mitchell; daughter, Martha Kate Edmondson; son, William Douglas Mitchell; and her parents, William Dudley and Annie Lou (Hackett) Freeman.

 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean and Eddie Morris of Loganville; grandchildren and their spouses, James Walton, Jr., and Karen Edmondson of Stockbridge, Martha Jalaine and Steven Lester Shattles of Columbia, SC, Douglas Edward Edmondson of Rome, Vicki Brown of Loganville, Cindi Reynolds of Dacula; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Freeman Allen of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mitchell will be held Monday, February 18, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Tandy Mayo and Rev. Luke Durden officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 17, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM.
