Gus Christian, Jr. passed away February 27, 2013, at his home in Covington. He was 85 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Christian loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, card games, and woodworking. Mr. Christian was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Mae (Smithwick) Christian, father, Augustus Stovall Christian, and step-mother, Nellie Mae Christian.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Les and Kathy Christian, Steve and Anne Lott, Ricky and Sandra Christian, all of Covington; grandchildren, Jeff Christian, Mike Lott, Chris Lott, Susan Davis, Chris Fowle, Randy Brock, Kristy Bryant; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Christian will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Blevins officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Floyd Street, Friday, March 1, from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
