Thelma Owensby Watts, of Covington, passed away February 22, 2013, at the age of 61. Ms. Watts was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She enjoyed camping, dancing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Dempsey and Eva Estelle (Duff) Owensby; sister, Betty Jean (Owensby) Carter; and brother, James William Owensby.
Survivors include her son, Hoyt Lee Watts, Jr. of Covington; sister, Mary Sketo of Buckhead; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Patti Owensby of Gaffney, SC, Luther and Linda Owensby of Social Circle, Paul and Wanda Owensby, Warren and Liz Owensby all of Covington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Ms. Watts will be held Sunday, February 24, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. J. B. Leachman officiating, and interment following in Sewell Methodist Cemetery, in Mansfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
