Charles Allen of Covington, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the age of 70. Mr. Allen was a member of Stewart Baptist Church and was baptized in July of 2009. He enjoyed cooking, working in the garden, going fishing and spending time with his dog Kota. Mr. Allen never met a stranger and loved helping others. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Clifford and Jessie Lamar (Sis) Allen; sister, Hilda Ayers; brothers, J.L., Jerry, Frank and Tony Allen; grandson, Dakota Price.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Allen of Covington; daughters, Tammy Mullens, Phyllis Allen both of Kerriville, TX, Nicole Shields of McDonough; son, Brian Smith of Riverside, CA; sisters, Margie Allen of Porterdale, Linda Sorrow and her husband, James of Jersey; brother, Pete Allen and his wife, Patt of Long Beach, CA; granddaughters, Cheyanne Price of McDonough, Sophia Smith of Riverside, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Allen will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 6, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
