Wallace E. Lindsey

Wallace E. Lindsey of Porterdale, passed away January 13, 2018, at 82 years of age.  Having been born and raised in Porterdale, Mr. Lindsey proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years.  He worked for Sears for 35 years.  After retiring, he opened his own business, Lindsey Sharpening Service, which he ran for 25 years.  He was a life-long member of Porterdale Baptist Church.  In addition, Mr. Lindsey enjoyed hunting, fishing, cowboy movies, and was an Atlanta Braves fan.  He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Lindsey; parents, Chester and Pauline (Culberth) Lindsey; brothers, Terrell Lindsey, Billy Lindsey, and Reid Lindsey.

 

Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Gail Lindsey of Porterdale; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Angie Lindsey of Covington; grandchildren, Michael and Brandy H. Lindsey, Jeffrey and Tori Lindsey, Chase Lindsey, Jessi L. and Trevor McKinley, Cindy Lindsey; great-grandson, Chevy Lindsey; daughter-in-law, Suzanne C. Lindsey; Goddaughter, Laurie McDonald; brother, Jimmy Lindsey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 19, 2018, 1:00 PM, in Lawnwood Memorial Park, on Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. David Wheeler officiating.  Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Thursday, January 18, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.  Flowers are accepted, or donations in memory of Mr. Lindsey, may be made to Porterdale Baptist Church, P.O. Box 637, Porterdale, GA  30070.
