Johnny Hodges, age 80, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. A lifelong patriot, Mr. Hodges proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was happily married to the love-of-his-life, Margaret, for over 57 years. Mr. Hodges' centered his life around family and time spent together brought him great joy. Additionally, he liked being outdoors, hunting or fishing, and was an avid sports fan. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Thomas and Eula Ruby Hodges; sisters, Elizabeth Dietz, Jewell Hailey; and brothers, Jack Hodges, Sid Hodges.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Margaret Hodges; son and daughter-in-law, David and Tammy Hodges; grandchildren, Kristopher and Kina Hodges, Justin and Ashley Hodges, Tiffani Hodges; great-grandchildren, Taylor Kate Hodges, Oakland Hodges, Luke Hodges; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Hodges will be held Monday, May 28, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Eastridge Community Church, Jackson Lake Campus, 14200 GA-36, in Covington, with Pastor Gary Thompson, Sammy Ozburn, and Pastor Phillip Bone officiating. Friends may visit with his family at the church, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington.
