Ruth Evelyn "Tommy" Ford of Covington passed away May 22, 2018, at the age of 91. Mrs. Ford was a faithful member of Monroe Church of God for 45 years. A devoted family woman, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She was always laughing and liked to joke around. Mrs. Ford was a great cook and loved to bake. She was known for her fried peach pies and chocolate cake. A music enthusiast, Mrs. Ford especially liked listening to country and Gospel music. Her favorite past times were decorating, cleaning and organizing, getting her hair done, and dancing. Additionally, she loved antiques and trips to the mountains and lake house. Mrs. Ford will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alverna Ford, sisters, Donnie Sue House, Norma Malcom; parents, Waymon and Pauline Brown.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Terri Prickett Hood and Joey Hood, Tammy Prickett-Hammock; sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis W. Prickett, Barry and Jerry Prickett; grandchildren, Tiffany McCullough, Brett and Jennifer Hood, Corey and Tiffany Hood, Chuck and Leslie Prickett, Clay Prickett; great-grandchildren, Allie Hood, Addison Hood, Julia Hood, CoraBeth Hood, Sinclair Hood, Lexie Lyles, Charlee Prickett; sister, Juanita Jones; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Ford will be held Friday, May 25, 2018, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Pastor Wayne Durden and Pastor Barry Peavy officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Thursday, May 24th , from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
