Kenneth "K.B." Mims, Sr. of Oxford, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the age of 95. K.B. Proudly served his country, in the United states Army, during World War Two. He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Covington, and retired from McLean Trucking Company. K.B. enjoyed being outdoors in nature, whether it was fishing or gardening. More than anything, he loved his lord and his family. K.B. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Frances Mims; daughter, Jean Breedlove; great-grandson, Stanley Dean Johnson; one sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Bobby DeLee, Marcia and Keith Adkisson; son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Brenda Mims; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Mims will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Cody McNutt and Rev. Tim Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Tuesday, October 22, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, c/o Murphy's Gang, 1139 Usher St., Covington, GA 30014, or a food bank of your choice.
