Maurice Maddox of Porterdale, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019, at the age of 83. Mr. Maddox was of the Baptist faith and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, in Clanton, Alabama. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside, whether it was playing golf or gardening. An avid sports fan, Mr. Maddox liked watching the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and the University of Georgia football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ethel Maddox; sister, Doris Thompson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Norma J. Maddox; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Ben Marks, Cindy and Ed Potts, Tamela and Rick Register; grandchildren, Benjy, Monica, Chad, Brett, Matt, Brooks, Brady, Maggie; as well as great-grandchildren, Ava, Jaxon, Grayson, Sophia, Nash, Will, Ellie Grace, Steven, Lana, Anna.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Maddox will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Todd Hilton officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to his service, from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M.
