Jerry C. Rabun

Jerry C. Rabun, age 90, of Social Circle, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020, at his daughter's home. He was born August 8, 1929, to Arlie and Marie Rabun, of Social Circle. Mr. Rabun proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War, as an Army Corporal and received the Korean Bronze service star and the Untied Nations service medal. Upon his discharge from the Army, he married the love of his life, Margie Ferrell. Mr. Rabun was employed by Ford Motor Company, in Hapeville, Ga, later retiring after 43 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friends, woodworking and spending time with his family. Mr. Rabun leaves behind a loving and admired family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Marjorie Rabun; daughter, Nancy Lynn Dove; granddaughters, Robin Rabun, Leah Hubbard; parents, Arlie and Marie Rabun.

 

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Daniel Flis; son and daughter-in-law, Van and Cris Rabun; grandchildren, Amanda and Brad Carithers, Daniel Shawn Flis, Jr., Jacob and Beverly Rabun, Adam and Jennifer Hubbard; great-grandchildren, J.D. Rabun, Ellie Rabun, Landon Hubbard; sister and brother-in-law, Arletha and J.F. Bryan.

 

A Funeral Service for Mr. Rabun will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2020, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Ben Reynolds officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Monday, January 27, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family would like to thank all of staff at Longleaf Hospice, of Covington, Ga.
