Richard Dale Robinson, Jr., of Covington, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 70 years of age. As an act of loyalty and commitment to his country's freedoms, Mr. Robinson proudly served as a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. He retired from FiberVisions, in Covington, after many years as a dedicated employee. Mr. Robinson's hobbies and interests reflected his love of the outdoors. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman, and he liked to tool around in the yard and work in his garden. Mr. Robinson was a genuine family man who shared a close bond with his loved ones, and his grandchildren were among his favorites to enjoy time with and make lasting memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard, Sr., and Delores Robinson; sisters and brother-in-law, Gayle and Buster Clark, Dayle Robinson.
Left to lovingly remember Mr. Robinson is his wife of 35 years, Rachel Robinson; daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Jeff Allen, Heather and Curtis Williams, Kimberley and Dewayne Smitherman; sons, David Brock, Dale Robinson, Shane Robinson; granddaughter he raised as his own, Tiffany Robinson; 13 additional grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Lanier Mote, Lori and Tony Mooney, Teresa and Brent Peace, Carol and Charles Bray, Darlene and Harold Esslinger, Janet Duffey, Paula and Frank Huffman; brother and sister-in-law, James and Teresa Robinson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Robinson will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with Rev. Scott Suttles officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington. Friends may visit with his family at the funeral home Wednesday, January 15, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
