Linda Joyce Staples of Covington, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the age of 67. Mrs. Staples had an outgoing personality and liked singing karaoke, dancing, and watching NASCAR. She enjoyed wearing her cowboy boots and being outdoors, whether it was camping, hunting, fishing or swimming. In addition, family gatherings meant everything to Mrs. Staples – especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Staples; parents, Warren and Laura Johnson; brother, Larry Summers; sister, Kathy Sue Staples; brother-in-law, Don Staples.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Bowden and husband, Jon; sons, Dan Staples and wife, Kim, David Leon Black, Jeremiah Staples and fiancée, Marian Burns; grandchildren, Andrew Duckett, Leta Cook, Danielle Staples, Taylor Lytle, Cole Staples, Casey Staples, Kaden Staples, Charles Staples; great-grandson, Tobi Cook; sister, Annette Lermusiaux and husband, Jerry; brother, Rusty Johnson and wife, Donna; as well as other loving family members; and her dogs, Loretta and Pretty Boy.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Staples will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington with. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to her service, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorial Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
