Linda Smith Key, of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at the age of 54. Linda was the epitome of what it meant to be a Christian and her life was a living testimony of her beliefs. In keeping with the core values of her faith, and in her role as a pastor's wife, she loved without limits, was selfless in nature, and intentionally chose to see the good in everyone. Linda was strong in spirit and mind, yet her ever-present smile and contagious laugh was proof of her true joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Raymond and Lucille (May) Smith.
The life and memories created by Linda will forever remain with her husband, Glen Key of Signal Mountain, TN; son, Brad Newman of Covington, GA; step-children and their spouses, Amber and Jay Barrentine, William and Amanda Key, Morianda and Richard Williams Key; grandchildren, Mackenzie Collins, Allie Key, Peyton Key, Neyland Key, Cynthia Williams, Lilli Williams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and William Kimbrell, Connie and Ricky Elder, all of Covington, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Patti Smith of Conyers, GA, Tommy and Cheri Smith of Loganville, GA, Randy Smith of Murphy, NC, Phillip Smith of Oxford, GA; 12 nieces and nephews; as well as 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Funeral Service for Linda will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020, 3:30 PM, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 8111 Brown Bridge Road, in Covington, with Pastor Glen Key, Brian Kitchens, and Ricky Elder officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Memorial Gardens, 1635 Highway 81, Loganville. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, September 4, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
