Joseph Patrick Pointer, Jr., of Social Circle, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021, at the age of 26. Joseph was known to family and friends for having a big heart - when he loved, he loved hard and was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He was incredibly talented in drawing, extremely creative, and was very astute with information. Joseph enjoyed cooking and loved to play football and basketball at Eastside High School. Spending time with his family is what he cherished most. He enjoyed fishing and reading the Bible with his grandfather, eating his grandmother's delicious meals, and dancing with his cousins. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gilbert Pointer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Joseph, Sr., and Annette Pointer; brother, Joshua Pointer; maternal grandparents, Sleepy and Annie Peterson; paternal grandmother, Delia Pointer; Aunts, Bridgette Peterson, Brenda Pointer, Linda Bryant, Barbara Robinson, Valencia Pointer, Juanita Brown, Bent Fuller, Tut Upshaw, Lois Battle, Susie Brown; uncles, Brad Peterson, Gilbert Pointer, Jr., Jesse Pointer, Gene Pointer, Jerry Pointer, Ted Pointer, Greg Pointer, Michael Pointer, Ricky Pointer, Jeffery Pointer, Miguel Pointer; as well as lots of cousins.
A Private Funeral Service for Joseph will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, with Pastor Cecil Robinson and Pastor David Brown officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, February 26, from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
