Mike Carter, of Covington, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 72. Mr. Carter was a faithful member of Oxford Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, working in his flower garden, woodworking and building furniture. In addition. Mr. Carter was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and registered forester. Family and friends will remember him always wearing his suspenders and hat. Mr. Carter was a loving husband and "Poppy" who held a special place in his heart for his dog, Charlie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Lynda Brewer Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jason Parker; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Suzanne Carter; grandchildren, Meredith Parker, Evan Carter, Dixon Carter, Grayson Carter, Gavin Parker; sisters and brother-in-law, Geniene and Larry Moore, Bonnie Carter Fleck; brother-in-law, John Brewer, and wife, Marsha; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Carter will be held Monday, February 22, 2021, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Kevin Wilhite officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Sunday, February 21, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oxford Baptist Church Missions, 305 Emory Street NW, Oxford, GA 30054.
CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
