Brenda Williams Rappé, of Covington, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the age of 77. Mrs. Rappé was an educator for 42 years teaching high school in many counties such as Carroll, Elbert, Spaulding, Butts, Meriwether, and Newton County. She will be remembered as a devout Christian and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Rappé was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mildred Williams; sister, Shirley Dodd; two brothers, Melvin "Big Jack" Williams, Milton "Little Jack" Williams.
Survivors include her daughters, Cat Gregg (Rick), Christy Ledford; grandchildren, Allie Emerson (CJ), Jenn Smith, Kaitlyn Self (Johnathen), Fran Sampson (Tony), Makayla Holloway (Johnathan), Victoria Pittman, Savannah Norman (Jordan), Levi Johnson, Austin Parish; great-grandchildren, Bentley Emerson, Brayden Self, Johnathan Holloway, Elijah Holloway; as well as several nieces and nephews; longtime friends and caregivers, Velma Worley, and Mashad Cody.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Rappé will be held Monday, January 3, 2021, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Grace Stodghill officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.
