Katherine Lane

Katherine Lane, of Covington, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, at the age of 94. Mrs. Lane was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, in Tucker, Georgia and attended Highpoint Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to music all day, attending the Fox Hunting Trails and Shriners Parades. Mrs. Lane loved helping others and was a great cook who made the best chocolate cake. She loved her family but especially loved her grandchildren – they were her everything. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Alford; son, Bobby Wilson, parents, Ira and Annie Bertha Carnes; two sisters and three brothers.

 

Survivors include her husband, David Lane; daughter, Jackie Pearce (David); sons, Hugh Wilson (Joyce), Steve Wilson (Beverly); step-children, Gayla Ellis (Danny), Tela Curtis (Barry), Kristy Farmer, Bradley Lane; 17 Grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Lane will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington with Pastor TJ Bennett officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to her service from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, in Tucker, at 3:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/.

 

Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
