Felton Farmer, of Covington, passed away March 25, 2015, at the age of 86. Mr. Farmer had been a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church since 1976. He worked for Gober Concrete Company for 21 years, and in 1992 he retired from Newton County, where he worked as a dump truck driver. After his retirement, he went to work part-time for NAPA Auto Parts. Mr. Farmer enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling with his beloved wife, and going out to eat with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Wayne Farmer; parents, Eugene and Ida Bell Farmer; and sister, Barbara Jean Young.
Mr. Farmer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lillian Farmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Corrie Hewell, Connie and David Wright; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Farmer will be held Friday, March 27, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Kenny Dockins officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, March 26, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
