Obit - Grace Twitty Bryant

Grace Twitty Bryant of Conyers, GA, passed away March 3, 2015, at the age of 79. Mrs. Bryant was born and raised in Sebring, Florida, and was a 1953 graduate of Sebring High School, where she played the clarinet in the marching band and was on the cheerleading squad. She furthered her education at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and was a proud member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mrs. Bryant married the love of her life, Charlie, in 1960, and together lived in the Atlanta and Nashville areas before making their home in Conyers in 1972. Grace was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and ladies' trio. She also sang in the Conyers-Covington Choral Guild for several years until she was no longer able. An active member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution - Col. John McIntosh, Conyers Chapter, she served as the National Defense Chairman. Additionally, she was a charter member of the Colonel Dames 17th Century - Mary Brown Tinkham - Conyers Chapter. Grace was a skilled artist enjoying painting, needlework and sewing and was also quite the golfer. She played locally and at many beautiful courses worldwide. She studied family genealogy as a hobby and also enjoyed traveling the world with Charlie. Her bridge group of dear friends was a regular event for Grace. She also kept ties with her Sebring girlfriends that she had known since Kindergarten! They went on numerous girls' getaways together. A musician as well, she played the clarinet, piano and flute. Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie Bryant; daughter, Laurie Bryant; and her sister, Mary Belle Gremp.

 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Greenich; grandchildren, Laura Greenich, Jimmy Greenich, Charlie Greenich, Gracie Greenich, all of Covington; brother-in-law, Bob Gremp of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved Ragdoll kitty, Buffy, whom she adored.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bryant will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1169 Clark Street, in Covington, GA, with Rev. Beth Dameron officiating, and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, in Conyers, GA. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, GA, Friday, March 13, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
