Elena Fernandez of Oxford, passed away December 11, 2016, at the age of 87. Mrs. Fernandez came to the United States in 1967 as a single mother of four. Knitting and crocheting were favorite pastimes for Mrs. Fernandez - oftentimes knitting blankets for children's hospitals. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Jimenez.
Survivors include her daughter Cari Stone of Oxford; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Milagro Fernandez, Miami, FL, Patrick and Eva Fernandez, Live Oak, FL, Ross and Daisy Fernandez, Miami, FL, Rolando and Cindy Fernandez of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
