Glendys Benton of Covington, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the age of 78. Devoted to her family, Ms. Benton adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. A fan of attending dirt-track racing, she also enjoyed trips to Panama City Beach. Being with her church family, and her dog, Bella, also brought Ms. Benton immense joy. She was preceded in death by her parents John David and Eunice Wilkins; sons, Ronald Blake, Randall Blake; and sister, Mary Ann Goddard.
Survivors include her daughters, Valerie Harp, Angela Qualls, both of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law; Roger Blake of Villa Rica; Michael and Jenny Lowry of Covington; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Irvin, of Dahlonega; Betty Pace, and Linda Folk, both of Conyers; brothers, Tony Wilkins of Covington, and Tommy Wilkins of Lee Summit, MO; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Wayne Whitley officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, April 7, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
