Robert C. Jackson

Robert C. Jackson of Covington, passed away April 3, 2017, at 89 years of age.  Mr. Jackson was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both WW II and Korea.  He was an avid fan of University of Alabama and Navy football.  A member of Gaither's United Methodist Church since 1988, Mr. Jackson was a positive influence for his children and those around him, sharing love and wisdom as he lived an exemplary Christian life.  In addition to being a devoted husband to his late wife of 54 years, Christine, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who found joy in the time he spent with his family, especially the children.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine (Welch) Jackson; daughter, Kathryn Limuti; grandson, Jason Betts; parents, Henry Grady and Maggie (Armstrong) Jackson; sisters, Jackie Martin, Jeanette Mott; brother, Gerrard "Bud" Jackson.

 

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Butch Betts, Lisa and Bud Smith, all of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Debi Jackson of Covington; 10  grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Funeral Service for Mr. Jackson will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Rev. Danny Standard officiating.  Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park with Military Honors.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, April 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
