Betty Jo Patrick of Covington, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the age of 77. Mrs. Patrick, who was a dedicated and faithful Christian, always delighted in attending worship. She took pleasure in going to yard sales and working in her flower garden. Her favorite destination was Florida, and even if the fish weren't biting, she enjoyed sitting on the pier. Mrs. Patrick was a hard-working woman all her life. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alma Shead; husband, John Henry Dickerson; son-in-law, Tommy Gaines; and ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Jo Ann Gaines, Mary and Jim Fuqua, Betty Jean Chambers; sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. and Dena Chambers, Richard Chambers, Dennis and Tina Collier; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 7 brothers and sisters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Patrick will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Thomas Smith officiating and interment following in Lorraine Assembly of God Church, 4140 Union Church Road, in McDonough. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Sunday, January 6, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
