Donald W. Brooks of Covington, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the age of 73. Mr. Brooks proudly served his country for thirteen years in the United States Army and was a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church. Enjoying the outdoors, Mr. Brooks liked fishing, gardening, camping and watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved his family, his dog Candy, and old cars and trucks. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.W. and Adelle Brooks; brother, Billy Brooks; sister, Norma Baird.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Steve Coe; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Barbara Hailey, Johnny and Ivy Hailey, Jamie and Pam Hailey; grandchildren, Jessica, Moriah, Kaitlyn, Janna, Josh, Tiffany, Sarah, Heather; sister, Ruby Ogles; brother, Jimmy Brooks; as well as several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Brooks will be held Monday, January 28, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. J. Clifton Brown and Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Sunday, January 27, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to County Line Baptist Church, 3325 Highway 162, Covington, GA 30016.
