Jessie Stapp, of Covington, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, at the age of 68. Mr. Stapp was a man of God who enjoyed going to church and fellowship. A master carpenter, his children admired his line of work – he had a God given talent that led him to build custom homes and churches. In his spare time, Mr. Stapp liked fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family that he loved dearly. He had a great sense of humor and liked to joke around. Mr. Stapp will be remembered as a great man and father who had the most beautiful smile, blue eyes, and great hair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayman George and Agnes Marie Stapp; brothers, Erwin Stapp, Waymon Stapp, Willie Stapp.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Allison; son, J.J. Stapp, Jr.; grandchildren, Danielle Allison, Priscilla Allison, Danny Allison, Brandon Stapp, Austin Stapp; great-grandchildren, Link Hall, Maverick Allison, Easton Allison, Jamie Stapp, Casper Stapp, Jayden Stapp; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathleen Hooper, Marie and Danny Simmons; and brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Wanda Stapp; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Stapp will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating and interment following in Walden Campground Cemetery, in Conyers. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to his service, from 12 Noon – 2:00 P.M.
CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
