Betty Tant

 

Betty Tant, of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the age of 71. Mrs. Tant was a lifelong resident of Covington and was employed by Gates Rubber Company for 10 years. She enjoyed her days freshwater fishing where the fish were biting. Mrs. Tant will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Howard L. Tant; parents, Odell and Nellie Ruth (Hamlin) Gunn; sister, Mary Tant; and brother, James Gunn.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Michael Ray, Susan Few and Tony Baker, Julie and Brian Lockley; grandchildren and their spouses, Yancy and Joyce-Ann Tant, Ashley Ray, Preston and Ragan Tant, Ansleigh Ray, Brianna Lockley, Bryce Lockley; great-grandchildren, Mason McLendon, Ryan Parrish, Archer Tant, Elijah Wilson, Peyton Wilson; sisters, Nettie Shead, Joyce Milligan; brother, Charles Gunn; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Tant will be held Monday, May 17, 2021, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Kenneth Morrell officiating and interment following in Porterdale Baptist Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Sunday, May 16, from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M.

 

Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
