Willie Jean Mitchell, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the age of 83. Mrs. Mitchell was a strong-willed woman who loved the Lord and never met a stranger. She was a hard worker and enjoyed making crafts at church. Mrs. Mitchell was always involved with her children and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hillman and Eunice Skinner; brothers, Michael Skinner, Donald Skinner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Odis Mitchell; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Donald Skinner, Vickie and Guy Roos; Sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Julie Stegall, Ken and Lisa Stegall; step-daughter, Beth Silvers and husband, Bradley; step-sons, Bobby Mitchell and wife, Rallie, Darren Mitchell and wife, Marsha, Isaac Mitchell and wife, Sharon, David Mitchell and wife, Susan; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Richard Bell; brothers, Charles Skinner, Edward Skinner; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mitchell will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Wayne Whitley officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Thursday, May 6, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
