Flora Mae Bailey Brown, of Loganville, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the age of 97. Flora retired from K-Mart at the age of 62 in 1986. She loved her church and was a member of East Newton Baptist Church until she moved to Walton County where she joined Gum Creek Baptist Church. Flora loved singing "I'll Fly Away" with her grandsons, Jeremy and Mike while they played the guitar. She always adored her flowers, planting and making them grow. In her spare time, Flora enjoyed eating sweets, and making cakes, candy, and anything sweet. She outlived all her relatives, her brothers, and sisters, Ida, Alfred, Willie, Florence, Bessie, Claude, and Edgar. Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Sidney Brown; parents, Miner Monroe and Sarah Elizabeth Bailey.

Survivors include her daughter, Cherie Mitchell and Tommy Smith; grandchildren, Julie Ramey and husband, Mike, Jeremy Roden and Michelle Weir; great-grandchildren, Patrick Ramey, Joshua Ramey, Jacob Roden, Allie Roden; as well as special nieces and nephews including but not limited to, Reed Dilbeck, Ralph Dilbeck, Donna and Bob Hawkins, Linda and Paul Ray Morgan, Wanda and Mike Prince.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Brown will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021, 3:30 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Paul Ray Morgan officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Tuesday, June 1, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
