Robert Wayne McGiboney, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the age of 77. Mr. McGiboney was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. He loved to tell stories and was a man of many jokes and good times. Mr. McGiboney was a well-known friend, businessman, and never met a stranger; with his abundance of knowledge, he gave great advice and had a home remedy for everything. He loved sunshine and never turned down a trip to the beach. His pride in his entrepreneurship was inspiring to many. Mr. McGiboney will be remembered as the most loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. McGiboney was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Hilda Ann McGiboney; beloved partner, Judy Eaton Nusser; parents, Robert and Marie McGiboney; sister, Mary Janice; brother, Jimmy McGiboney; great-granddaughter, Remington Hunter-Ann Williamson.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Wade Barrow; grandchildren and their spouses, Crystal and Justin Campbell, Amy and John Slaughter, Elizabeth Ann Hunt; great-grandchildren, Parker Peale, Aiden Campbell, Ashton Campbell, Ariat Campbell, Addison Hunt, Aubrey Slaughter, Arial Campbell; siblings, Virginia and Raymond Townsend, Franklin and Mildred McGiboney, Bill and Shelba McGiboney; Cherished niece, Lisa Banks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. McGiboney will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, 2:00 P.M., at Sharon Baptist Church, 5690 S Sharon Church Road, in Loganville, with Pastor Glen Stephens officiating and interment following in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, June 4, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Sharon Baptist Church.
