Diane Elizabeth Watson, of Covington, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the age of 80. Mrs. Watson was a dedicated employee of Piedmont Moulding where she retired after many years. In her free time, she enjoyed relaxing on her back porch with her cat, Frisky, while drinking a cup of coffee, spur-of-the-moment trips to the mountains and the beach, and running the auction with her husband. Mrs. Watson also loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years Andrew Lowe (Bill) Watson; parents, Clyde and Mary Mauldin; and brother, Ronnie Mauldin (Jackie).
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Watson (Mike); son, Gary Watson (Judy); grandchildren, Kim Brown (Ty), Kale Waddleton (Marissa), Jennifer Stanley (Scott), Jamie Mocaby (Cole), Julie Pollard (John), Jessica New (Starsky); great-grandchildren, Andrew Brown, Ashley Barnes (John), Kaleb Waddleton, Luke Waddleton, Dylan New, Mayson New, Meagan Stanley, Calleigh Stanley, Dixie New, Myla New, Diesel New, Maverick New, Dani Grace New, Tuck Pollard, Magnum New, Tinsley Mocaby, Teagan Mocaby, Kristin Kimsey (Jordan); great-great-grandchild, Shep Barnes; sister, Betty Weatherford (Ken); sisters-in-law, Sarah Kirkpatrick, Shirley Watson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Watson will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Chris Allen and Gary Watson officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Saturday, March 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.
