Mary Hailey Rutledge, of Porterdale, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the age of 82. Mrs. Rutledge retired from Guardian Automotive after 30 years of employment. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and tending to her flower garden. Additionally, Mrs. Rutledge liked completing crossword puzzles and word searches. She had a passion for taking care of others and never met a stranger. Mrs. Rutledge loved her family dearly and will be missed by everyone that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Harvey Rutledge; sons, Rusty Daniel, Don Ansley Daniel; parents, Aquilla E. and Ella Ruth Hailey; sisters, Sara Ann Bone, Ella Jane Turner; and brothers, William T. Hailey, Luther Hailey, Charles Hailey, Perry Hailey.
Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Shy (Dennis), Tammy Gladden (Kevin), Karen White (Scott); daughter-in-law, Susan Daniel; grandchildren, Derrick Daniel, Brandon Daniel (Serena), Hillary Daniel, Katie West (Matt), Cody White, Casey White; great-grandchildren, Adam Daniel, Landon Pruiett, Kaydence Cargile, Kendall Edwards, Ty West, Talon West; brother, Billy Wayne Hailey; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Rutledge will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Ronny Brannen officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.
