Doris McFarlane, of Covington, passed away June 28, 2015, at the age of 90. She was an animal lover and rescuer. Mrs. McFarlane enjoyed the beach and writing poetry, but had a special love for music. She taught many generations of her family songs that they still sing today! A loving mother and grandmother, she cherished time spent with her family. Mrs. McFarlane was preceded in death by her husband, George McFarlane, Jr; parents, Murphy and Anna Parnell; as well as her four siblings.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Jim Hays, Karen and Sammy Hopper, Pam and Paul Rose, Georgianna Richert; grandchildren, Darren Smith, Deanna Padgett, Byron Hopper, Samantha Pierce, Christina Crabtree; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mrs. McFarlane will be held at a later date.
