Kathleen Dobbs Martin of Covington, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the age of 95. Mrs. Martin's faith was very important to her. She enjoyed worshiping at Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member and attended weekly bible study classes. A few of Mrs. Martin's favorite hobbies were Facebook and quilting – she even taught others how to quilt at Turner Lake Senior Center where she was a member. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Martin; daughter, Ann Fisher; granddaughter, Kathy Martin; mother, Clara Bell Dobbs; father and step-mother, Jessie and Jewel Dobbs; sister, Nannie Mae Capes; brother and sister-in-law, James Henry and Sara Dobbs.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Gabrielle Martin; son-in-law, Ray Fisher; grandchildren, Cherie Smith, Courtney and David Braun, Jimmy Fisher, Margaret Weaver; great-grandchildren, Baer, Luka, Adam; sister, Hazel Stowe; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Martin will be held Friday, May 3, 2019, 12:00 P.M., at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 10 Almon Church Road, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating and interment following in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Thursday, May 2, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 10 Almon Church Road, Covington, GA 30014.
