Walter Eugene Price of Covington, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the age of 87. Mr. Price was of the Pentecostal faith and attended services in McDonough. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. Musically inclined, he was known for being able to play most any instrument. Mr. Price was a true animal lover, especially dogs, often taking rescues in to take care of them. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Stella (Daniel) Price; parents, William Erwin and Annie (Minton) Price; sisters, Glynnis Dover, Evelyn Autry, Willene Price, Clarice Price; brothers, Otha Price, Billy Price, Rev. Arther Price.
Survivors include his daughters, Anne Willene Butler, Clarice Whitfield; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Price will be held Friday, May 31, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Mr. Cameron Price and Mr. Andrew Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Thursday, May 30, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a love offering may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
