William "Billy" Ethridge, of Covington, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 82 years of age. Affectionately known as "Daddy" or "Paw Paw", Mr. Ethridge was a loving father to his daughters, and a caring and attentive grandfather who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In earlier days, Mr. Ethridge's hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors as he was happiest anytime he was hunting or fishing (especially white bass) or riding his motorcycle or four-wheeler. A friendly person and social in nature, he liked to visit and chat with his neighbors and spend time with family. Mr. Ethridge was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia (Sweeney) Ethridge; mother, Ada Ethridge Reece; father, Bill McDonald; step-father, Roy Reece; as well as his sweet dog, Maggie Mae.
Mr. Ethridge will be remembered by his daughters and sons-in-laws, Cathy Roberts and Barry Moulder of Buchanan, GA, Gail Presley of Lebanon, VA, Cheryl Adams and Gary Martin, Tammy Dabbs, all of Covington, GA, Billie Jo and Kerry Kennedy of Newborn, GA, Mandy and Tony Rogers of Winder, GA; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2019, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
