Jack A. Laseter, of Covington, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at the age of 85. A bona fide car buff, Mr. Laseter loved all things cars, whether it was going for a drive or taking care of his vast collection, which included over 30 Volkswagen Beetles. He also spent his free time visiting various Airstream Parks with his brother, Max, or hitting up local auctions and, without fail, bringing home something he couldn't resist! To his core, Mr. Laseter was a family man; get-togethers with loved ones meant great conversations and good food - especially his daughter's cornbread and sweet tea. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Alice (McElroy) Laseter; and parents, Hurst and Mary Bush (Towler) Laseter.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam Murphy; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tina Laseter; grandchildren, Jill Murphy, Alison Korte and husband, Jonathan, Zane Laseter, Kade Laseter; great-grandchildren, Noah Korte, Mary Grace Korte, Aidan Korte; sister, Jo Tucker; brother and sister-in-law, Max and Runelle Laseter; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Laseter will be held Monday, June 24, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 526 State Highway 11, in Monroe, with Pastor Margaret Adams officiating and interment following in the church cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the Laseter family, Sunday, June 23, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
