Rita Unger of Covington, passed away December 10, 2014, at the age of 82. She and her loving husband, Eric, were adventurous German immigrants who migrated to the United States to raise a family. The family lived for a short time in Ohio and Kentucky before settling in the Covington, Georgia area. She worked at Hercules in Covington for 25 years. She will be remembered by her family as a very loving mother and grandmother (Oma), who enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe. She was also an animal lover, who enjoyed her dogs, Teddy, Amber and Suzie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heindrich and Alvina (Leidenfrost) Neubauer , her brother Edu Neubauer, and her granddaughter Erica Kelley.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Eric, who was the love of her life; daughters and son- in-law, Silvia and Mike Redmond, and Mona Kelley, all of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law, Henry and Donna Unger of Highlands Ranch, CO; Robert Unger of Oxford; grandchildren, Carlyn, Madalyn, and Samuel Unger, Todd Crumbliss, Paul (and wife, Kristi) Crumbliss, Clint (and wife,Shannon) Aaron, Diana Almond, Daniel and Emily Unger, Erica, Megan and Ashley Kelley; great grandchildren, Reanna Maddox, Destiny Almond, Jason and Christopher Cabe, Zack Crumbliss, Macy Aaron, Savanna Crumbliss, Ansley Crumbliss; sister, Geisla Bode, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private interment for Mrs. Unger will be held at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
