Obit - Gwendolyn Bagley

Gwendolyn Bagley, 92, of Peachtree City, passed away March 21, 2017. Mrs. Bagley was a former resident of Conyers, and was a member of Rockdale Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the Senior Choir. After completing her nursing degree, she worked for Piedmont Hospital before deciding to stay home and raise her three children. She enjoyed playing bridge, and along with her husband, Joe, enjoyed traveling to the beach, square dancing and camping in their travel trailer. Additionally, they relished the opportunities to travel with Christian Tours – motorcoach tours traveling all over the United States. Mrs. Bagley was preceded in death by her husband; parents, William and Vera (Keene) Hancken; sister, Geraldine Gaskin; and her brother, William Hancken.

 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Dougald Montgomery of Sharpsburg, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Rusty C. Bagley of Decatur, GA, James Christopher and Renee Bagley of Fuquay-Varina, NC; grandchildren, Trey Busch, Eric and Betsy Bagley, Samantha and Cody Conley, Lauren Bagley, Jessica and Rob Kurkjian, Bart and Jill Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Kailey Busch, Chloe Busch, Tristen Conley, Addisen Conley, Carsen Conley and Graham Montgomery.

 

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Bagley will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017, 1:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington, with Dwayne Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Saturday, prior to her service, from 11 AM – 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Senior Adult Ministries, c/o Rockdale Baptist Church, 1295 Smyrna Road, Conyers, GA 30094.
