Franklin L. Fambrough of Conyers, passed away March 10, 2017, at the age of 69. Mr. Fambrough, a 1965 graduate of Newton County High School, proudly served for 8 years in the Army National Guard. He owned and operated East Metro Door & Canopy for 35 years. Armed with a deep love for his Lord, Mr. Fambrough served as deacon and chairman on the Board of Deacons at Harvest Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman at heart, Franklin enjoyed deer hunting and fishing - both saltwater and freshwater. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey G. and Lois (Hawk) Fambrough; brother, Harvey Fambrough, Jr.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Cheryl G. Fambrough; children and their spouses, Elisa Fambrough Graham and husband, Ray, of Covington, Eric Fambrough and wife, Elizabeth, of Johns Creek; grandchildren, Kalen Lockett and husband, Samuel, Blake Johnson, Madison Graham, Annabelle Fambrough, Clara Fambrough; brother, Quinton Fambrough and fiancée, Stephanie Byrd; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Fambrough will be held Monday, March 13, 2017, 2 PM, at Harvest Baptist Church, 2075 Highway 212, in Covington, with Rev. Richard Culpepper and Rev. Mike Wadley officiating. Mr. Fambrough will lie in state, at the church, from 12:30 – 1:00 PM, on the day of his service. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, March 12, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
