obit for Katie Smith Mobley

 

Katie Smith Mobley of Social Circle, passed away April 18, 2018, at the age of 29. Katie's life centered around her children, Gentrie and Gannon, and she gave selflessly in her role as a mother. Katie provided for her young family by working at Georgia Power, a job she genuinely enjoyed. When possible, she would hang out at the lake, or unwind on trips to her favorite place, Bell Mountain. Katie believed in practicing self-care and carved out time in her busy life to run and workout. Her absence will leave an indelible mark on the lives of her friends and family. Katie was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Casey Jones.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Gentrie Kay Mobley; son, Gannon Ray Joseph Mobley; mother, Tanya Smith; father and step-mother, Joey and Gay Smith; maternal grandmother, Jane V. Jones; paternal grandparents, Al and Dot Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Joshua and Hollie Smith; and step-sisters, Sarah McTyre and Hannah McTyre.

 

A Funeral Service for Katie will be held, Sunday, April 22, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Grace Baptist Church, 1025 East Spring Street, in Monroe, with Pastor Tommy Fountain, Sr., officiating and interment following in Heritage Memorial Park, in Milledgeville. Friends may visit with her family, Saturday, April 21st, from 5:00 -8:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morris State Bank, P.O. Box 68, Gordon, GA 31031, Special Account: Larry Joseph Smith for Gentrie and Gannon Mobley.
